Haidion Seafront™ IDM
for the education sector
Challenges in the education sector
Haidion Seafront is perfect fit for the education sector
A Quick Start
For a new student or employee, the necessary user accounts and access rights are automatically created without separate applications. Administrative staff do not need to spend time handling new student or staff account requests, freeing up time for more important tasks. The IT support workload is reduced as there are fewer service requests related to account issues.

One Account is Enough
If a person has multiple roles simultaneously, such as a teacher and a researcher, they will still be given only one identity. This means that the person does not need to remember multiple usernames for different systems. The IDM service automatically ensures that the person has the necessary access rights based on their employment contracts. When one of the contracts ends, the system automatically removes the associated access rights.

Substitutes and Temporary Workers Get Accounts Quickly
Substitute teachers or other temporary staff also quickly receive the necessary accounts and access rights. If the person does not yet have a contract in the HR system, a supervisor or equivalent can create a temporary "fast account." If the actual employment contract arrives in the HR feed to IDM, the fast account is automatically converted into a permanent identity. The use of short-term accounts facilitates work and improves security, as accounts do not need to be left active unnecessarily.

Student Account Management Runs Smoothly Without Delays
Students automatically receive the necessary system rights for the duration of their studies. The system can read student information from systems such as the university's student registries. The student does not need to wait for accounts and access rights, allowing for a smooth start to their studies. At the end of the studies, the accounts and access rights are automatically removed.

Manage External Collaborators Effectively
External organizations and users not present in the HR system can also be managed in Seafront IDM. The management of users and access rights can also be securely delegated to external collaborators themselves. Self-service registration and password reset for externals reduce manual work in user management.

Managing Access Rights is Easy
Access rights can be automated based on one or multiple roles. Provisioning access rights to legacy systems that do not support API or file-based integration can be automated with a robot. If special access rights are needed that are not related to the primary role, they can be easily applied for through the IAM system. The system handles the approval process and records all actions, making audits easier.
Haidion Seafront IDM as a solution for universities and schools
Seafront™ IDM reduces complexity and manual work in education organizations. It manages multiple parallel work roles (e.g. a teacher and a researcher) with a single identity and delivers correct access rights at the right time.
New employees, students and pupils have a smooth first working day as account and access rights are automatically delivered when their employment or studies start.

External collaborator management can be handled in the same IDM system and user management can be also delegated to the external parties.
